Everyone knows...

That you need hair to make polyjuice potion. And everyone knows that when cutting some of your own hair off, the easiest way to see what you are doing is to look in the mirror and use some scissors to cut some off of the front. I just want to know why three of my boys felt the need to contribute some of their hair to a pretend polyjuice potion just a couple of days before school pictures!

A conversation about Smokey the Bear...

On the way home from school today, the boys were telling D about meeting Smokey the Bear. K: I shook his hand. It was kind of scary! T: Yeah, Smokey the Bear is kind of scary, even though he's not real. K: Yeah, it's kind of scary even though he's not real, because his hand feels real. T: No, he's kind of scary in a Dora (the Explorer) kind of way. K: Yeah, and he didn't blink.

The honesty of children...

I recently went to Parent-Teacher conferences at the grade school. While there I had the opportunity to see a project #3 had written about his family. Here are some quotes from that project... "I think my Dad would be cooler if he had a black belt in Karate." "My Mom is overweight." "My Dad is overweight too." Well, if he's anything, he's honest!

Baptized by fire...

#4 came to us the other night and said in his best whiny voice, "T said the whole world is going to burn up and get baptized by fire. But Dad, if that happens then we won't be able to watch TV anymore!" Ah, the priorities of the young...
